Firefox compatibility is here!
Sorry it took me so long to get that issue fixed, but the error wasn't readily apparent. I had to monkey with the code, taking suggestions from several people, web pages, and design books before I realized where and what the exact problem with the code was.

But now the filter works in Firefox as well as in IE I am proud to say.

Of course I still plan on transferring the entire thing to .NET in a little while, so check back and I will comment on the improved service.

Hey everybody,
As promised here are the details on the coding apology:

I am the author of the current incarnation of Drinktown.com, and I accept that I have done a moderately bad job with the code. The current code is slow, sloppy and does not work in all browsers.

As near as I can tell the best browser to view the page in is Internet Explorer. This is mostly acceptable since 2/3's of the browsers coming to my site run Internet Explorer. But this is also a problem since the page evidently doesn't filter at all in FireFox, doesn't work at all in Safari, and is probably flawed somewhere I haven't found in NetScape. These problems have to be corrected, and soon.

I promise they will be. I am currently checking the existing code using debugging software I have downloaded from multiple sources. I am getting coding advice from online discussion boards, and submitting my page for review by those boards to correct my errors. In addition I am starting fresh and writing all new code this Thanksgiving. I am hoping to move the data and the code into a more user friendly arrangement, and I hope to write all this in the period of time covered by my Thanksgiving break.

Till then, the best way to use the page is with IE. I'm sorry about that but prototype corrected pages are still crashing during the filtering. If you have any coding abilities and want to help, please email us from one of the many contact options on the web page.

My apologies,
and my thanks.

I've got a new laptop, so I was able to make some updates to the web page code.

I removed some dumb inoperable code, refined the info windows so that now they don't stream on extra long, and so that the web page owned by the bar gets passed on to the window as a link.

New specials have been added to Milwaukee and to Chicago.

DrinkTown Staffblog

This is the location of the drinktown development team
blog. We'll post more later, for now we just wanted
to get it started, and have a place to point out that
Milwaukee is up and running. Data collection is done
by Dionne, and coding by Patrick.
