The three new buttons you see on the top right of the screen represent three new ways to
manipulate the Drinktown map. Here's a low down on how they work:
Standard: The Standard feature is our normal map. It allows you to filter
specials by day, type of special, and zipcode. It's pretty simple.
Search: The Search feature allows you to search within the text of the specials.
For instance, if beer is too broad for you, you could search for Guinness in the 'Search
Terms' box. Be careful though, since Guinness won't find all beers, or even all bars that
have Guinness, just those that mention it.
Crawl: This is something we worked on for a while. The Crawl Feature allows you
to check our map for specials along a route, and to change the width around that route that
the computer checks. Just click on the map to mark the start and end points, to get your bars.
The computer will draw a line between the points and find specials near the line. You can set the
search up at different widths from 1/8 mile to 1 mile.
Just one more point, you can only use one feature at a time, so you can't filter and crawl
at the same time.
So feel free to check out the new features, or to ignore them completely, we are here
for you.
